Stig Machine was founded in 1978 by Roger Svensson. Today, more than 30 years later, the company is still family owned, with son Bo Svensson at the helm as Chief Executive officer, supported by a staff of eight. Our front-line products feature a selection from the most reputable manufacturers on the market. And our focus on quality provides the company with strength and flexibility. It also generates confidence in our operations and provides a solid foundation for the close relationships we have developed over the years with our customers.
Stig Machine’s first product was a small asphalt paver from the Canadian brand ALLATT. Between 1978 and 1979 we sold 45 machines. In 1979, ALLATT’s paving-machine production was sold to Blou-Knox in the U.K. and the Swedish agency was moved to another reseller. In 1982, Blou-Knox went bankrupt and ALLATT production returned to its original owner in Canada. In 1982, Stig Machine took back representation of the ALLATT brand, along with an additional 100 paving machines from the ALLATT range to the Swedish market.
In 1980, the company starting selling spray bar and other similar machinery from Breining. In 1984, we expanded our product range with asphalt pavers and milling machines from the Italian company Bitelli. The asphalt pavers and milling machines were such a success over the years that Bitelli was acquired in 2000. In 1998, we further expanded the company’s operations by adding sales of heavier machinery, primarily Kallotikone mobile asphalt plants manufactured in Finland. In 2005, we became a representative for Amman stationary asphalt plants and in 2006, we also added Bomag, with a broad range of products, to our catalog. Since 2008, we also represent the Yanmar brand adding compact excavators and mini-dumpers to our product range. Despite strong fluctuations in the economy and a periodically wavering market, we have defended our position through the years and remain one of the leading suppliers in our industry in Sweden. At our headquarters in Bålsta, company management, sales personnel, secretaries and three experienced mechanics work together in pleasant, purpose-built premises. We are a close-knit team and have a indoor environment of 2,340 m2 at our disposition.
Our spacious service workshop is top of the line and is constantly updated to stay on top of technological developments. We also have a branch office in Hurva in “Skåne”, with sales person and mechanic, allowing us to offer faster and more efficient service to our customers in the south of Sweden. Furthermore, our ample floor space enables us to maintain a large, representative stock of products in an indoor environment, facilitating year-round display, demonstration and test driving.
